What is Sea Kelp?
Kelp and bladderwrack are both types of seaweed that grows in shallow and nutrient-rich saltwater around the world. Rather than a plant, kelp is actually a type of algae.
Our kelp variety comes under the scientific name Fucus vesiculosus, also known as bladderwrack. Kelp has been used as a medicinal aid for hundreds of years.
Not sure if you're getting enough Iodine in your diet?
If you’re careful about how much iodized salt (most table salt has added iodine) you consume, or follow a vegan diet, chances are you won’t be in taking enough iodine from natural resources.
In addition, kelp and bladderwrack are generally quite hard to find as a food source on the supermarket shelves or restaurant menus, which is why supplementing is very beneficial.
Sea Kelp is a Natural Anti-inflammatory
Our kelp supplement is a variety of seaweed known as bladderwrack, which contains a powerful anti-inflammatory called “fucoidan”.
Often, inflammation is a good thing – it’s how we fight off viruses and infection-causing bacteria. Sometimes inflammation is the reason behind suffering with bad skin, and so increasing our anti-inflammatories can help combat these minor ailments.
However, ‘chronic inflammation’ (as it is sometimes called) is believed by many to drive serious diseases such as Heart Disease, Alzheimer’s and even obesity. Many people take advantage of the powerful and natural anti-inflammatory properties in kelp and bladderwrack supplements to help prevent these diseases.

Kelp also contains 10 times more calcium than milk! This combination of minerals and vitamins is why Kelp some people call Kelp ‘the superfood of the sea’. Seaweed is also a popular food source to act as a prebiotic.
