Sometimes, just sometimes, we need that little extra boost of energy before a workout and this week, we’re coming to the rescue with our best Primal pre-workout drink recipe. With only 3 ingredients, it really is the quickest and most convenient pre-workout drink that you can make straight after a workout or best yet, prepare beforehand.

To make this the most effective pre-workout Primal drink, we’ve combined some of our best Primal fitness supplements with some well-nourished food ingredients. As a rule of thumb, it’s best to consume some form of natural carbohydrates – Primal carbohydrates, that is - before a workout, as well as a fitness supplement or two to help aid your performance. With that said we’ve included banana, coconut water, and Muscle 5x.

Banana

One of the best sources of potassium, bananas are an important mineral that can help fight fatigue and enabled our body’s enzymes to control energy production. Banana’s are also high in magnesium (great for muscles and nerves) and vitamins B1, B2, B3 and B6, which all help to convert your food into energy which makes it great as a pre-workout treat. This process of converting the food into energy also helps reduce the well-known midday slump and increase physical performance.

Coconut water

Coconut water is Potassium-rich and is one of nature’s best isotonic drinks. It makes for a natural sports drink because it helps aid hydration and boosts your energy before a workout. It can also help fight fatigue naturally and some people swear by drinking it first thing in the morning. Although, we’d suggest drinking it whenever!

Muscle 5x

The best pre-workout drink recipe

Serves: 1 serving
Preparation time: 2 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 1 Primal Cure Muscle 5x capsule (break in half and use the powder)

Method

  • Simply pop all of your ingredients into a food blender and blend everything together until lump free. Enjoy 1 hour before your workout.
